You never want to cut corners when seeking roof repairs or replacement for a commercial property — it’s the only way to generate the kind of ROI your business needs. This not only means choosing premium materials that’ll last for decades but also a first-rate roofing contractor who can carry out the work skillfully and achieve the kind of results you deserve.
But while it’s pretty easy to identify the best roofing materials available, it can be tricky for many property managers and business owners to figure out which contractors can be trusted, and which ones should be avoided. That’s one of the reasons it is always wise to consider the ratings and reviews previous clients have left. This can help you filter through your options quickly and learn what kind of service you can expect.

Maximize the Info Ratings Provide: How to Interpret Commercial Roofing Reviews
Just like the quality of different commercial roofers varies, the quality of some reviews, ratings, and platforms is better than others. And while it’s wise to consider all of the information you can get your hands on, be sure to consider the following factors when checking out commercial roofer ratings and reviews.
- Give the most weight to the most reliable review platforms. There is no shortage of rating or review platforms, but their quality differs considerably. Generally speaking, you’ll want to focus on general review platforms like Google and Facebook, as well as more specialized sites, such as Angi and GuildQuality.
- Focus on the most detailed reviews. You’ll usually learn much more (and end up making a better decision) by zeroing in on longer reviews that include tons of information. These kinds of reviews will give you much better insight into a given roofer’s business practices, expertise, and customer service than simple star ratings will.
- Remember that unhappy clients are more likely to leave reviews than happy clients. High-quality roofers sometimes have more happy clients than it appears, as people who’re pleased with their service tend to go back to their business and move on, while displeased clients are often eager to share their experiences.
- Understand that some reviewers are very hard to please. In some cases, a single poor review can cause a roofing contractor’s overall rating to plummet. So, carefully scrutinize negative reviews — especially when they’re outliers or provided by people who’ve provided a lot of negative ratings for other businesses.
- Consider both the rating and the number of ratings. Look for contractors who not only have a high overall rating but also those who’ve achieved this rating based on a large number of reviews. A contractor who has a 4.8-star rating based on 400 reviews is often the better option than one with a 5-star rating based on 12 reviews.
