Top 15 Highest Rated Roofers Serving Troy, MI (2026)
Finding a roofer in Troy isn’t exactly difficult. Figuring out which one you actually want working on your house is another story. There are companies
Old, broken, or dated windows might seem like a minor annoyance, but they tend to snowball into much bigger problems. Energy bills creep up, your home’s value slips, and leaks can eventually rot out your walls or floors. It’s not just about looks — these windows make your home less comfortable and let in far more noise than they should.
The fix is actually pretty straightforward. Get in touch with the window replacement experts at Schoenherr Roofing and let us swap out those old units for modern, energy-efficient windows that look great. You’ll notice a more comfortable home right away and enjoy a serious boost in curb appeal if you ever decide to sell.
If you want to enjoy all the benefits new windows have to offer, without dealing with the issues that come from poor installation or low-quality materials, you need to work with true window replacement professionals, like the team at Schoenherr Roofing.
Leonard sits about nine miles west of our Romeo headquarters at 102 W St Clair St, a fifteen-minute drive through the countryside. For a village this small and this rural, having the crew based right down the road is a real advantage. Plenty of metro window companies treat Leonard as too far out to bother with. We do not, because we are already here. A free estimate is easy to schedule, the crew shows up on time, and if you ever need us back, it is a short trip rather than a special one.
Leonard grew up around the Pontiac, Oxford and Northern rail line in the late 1800s and incorporated in 1889. The Leonard Mill, an 1889 grain elevator and beanery that once served the railroad, still stands beside what is now the Polly Ann Trail, and the little village core is full of buildings that date back to the 1880s. Fewer than 400 people live inside the village itself, ringed by the open farmland of Addison Township. Addison Oaks County Park and the Polly Ann Trail draw people out this way, but day to day Leonard stays a quiet, close-knit place where many homes have stood for generations.
That history sits right in the windows. The homes in and around the old village were built in an era of single-pane wood sash, and the farmhouses out on the township's acreage were built to the same standard. Both are long past the point where their original windows can keep up.
In the older village homes, you find true wood sash with rope-and-weight balances and thin single-pane glass, sometimes the wavy original panes. They rattle, they stick, they leak heat, and the wood rots at the sill after a century of Michigan weather. You do not have to strip a historic house to fix that. Pocket replacements set modern, sealed units into the existing openings, and well-fitted storm windows add a layer of protection while keeping the old look intact.
Out on the farms, the problem is exposure. Homes on open Addison Township land catch wind with nothing to slow it, and that wind finds every worn seal and loose sash, driving up the heating bill and rattling the glass on cold nights. Tight, correctly installed frames put a stop to it. On additions and outbuildings, we can bring the whole property up to the same standard. Barns, detached garages, and enclosed porches all have their own drafty openings, and matching them to the house keeps the whole place tight.
Whatever the building, the work starts with an honest measure and an install that respects how the place was put together. We would rather take the time to fit an old opening properly than force in a stock size that never quite seals.
In a village that still throws a Strawberry Festival every July, people know their neighbors, and word about a job travels fast. Because Romeo is just down the road, our crews are through this corner of the county constantly and finish work the whole village can see. That keeps us honest, and it is the plainest reason to trust a local team with your home.
In fact, there are several reasons to choose Schoenherr Roofing for all your window replacement needs, including:
A lot of homeowners miss the red flags that their windows aren’t pulling their weight anymore. Watch for these specific issues — they’ll tell you exactly when it’s time to replace your windows.
Standing near your windows and catching a chill in winter or feeling a wave of heat in summer? That's not normal. It usually means your seals are failing or the insulation just isn't doing its job anymore.
Old, inefficient windows put a lot of unnecessary strain on your heating and cooling systems. That extra workload almost always shows up as monthly energy bills that just keep climbing.
Moisture trapped between your window panes is a dead giveaway that the seal has failed. It's not just an eyesore that ruins your view — it actually kills the window's ability to insulate your home properly.
Windows that stick, jam, or won't stay open usually point to warped frames or worn-out hardware. Sometimes these issues hint at deeper structural problems that aren't easy to fix. In those cases, a full replacement is usually the smarter call.
Cracked or rotting window frames aren't just an eyesore — they let moisture creep into your walls and chip away at your home's structure. Ignore them long enough and you're looking at costly repairs. Catching it early saves you a serious headache down the road.
If you can hear every car or conversation passing by, your windows are probably outdated. Many older homes still have single-pane glass, which offers almost no sound insulation from the outside world.
Old windows let in a surprising amount of UV light, which takes a real toll on your home's interior. That constant sun exposure causes flooring, finishes, and furniture to fade and wear out much faster than they should.
Water stains, bubbling paint, or damp drywall near windows can indicate failing seals or improper installation.
It’s tempting to go with the lowest bid on window installation, but a lot of homeowners find out the hard way that cheap upfront usually means big headaches later. Instead of sharp-looking, energy-efficient windows, they end up with sticking panes, constant drafts, and moisture rotting their walls.
You won’t have to worry about that with Schoenherr Roofing. We provide expert installation using only top-tier windows built for the comfort, performance, and efficiency your home deserves.

Most homeowners notice real benefits when they upgrade their windows. But Leonard homeowners often get even more out of it, thanks to Michigan’s unique mix of environmental and regional factors. There are six reasons homeowners in The Great Lakes State should always go with premium windows:
Living in Leonard means dealing with freezing winters and hot, humid summers. High-quality windows make a real difference in keeping indoor temperatures steady all year. They cut down on heat loss when it’s cold and limit heat gain during those sweltering summer months.
Energy-efficient windows with insulated glass do more than keep your indoor temperatures steady — they take a real load off your HVAC system. Because they’re so well-sealed, they help Leonard homeowners save money on energy costs throughout the whole year.
Leonard gets hit with heavy rain, snow, and ice throughout the year. If your windows aren’t well-built or properly sealed, you’re asking for trouble. Quality windows designed to drain correctly keep moisture outside where it belongs, cutting down the risk of mold growth, wood rot, and costly water damage.
Leonard’s constant freeze-thaw cycles put a lot of stress on window frames and seals, which can lead to costly issues over time. Durable, professionally installed windows are built to handle that expansion and contraction and stand up to long-term weather exposure.
Whether you’re protecting your home’s value or getting ready to sell in Leonard’s competitive market, every edge counts. New, modern windows sharpen your home’s curb appeal and can give your resale price a meaningful bump.
We take pride in providing solutions that are tailored to each homeowner and treating every project as the unique job it is. At the same time, over the last 30 years, we’ve developed a proven, consistent process that serves our customers well and helps ensure they receive the high-quality window solutions they deserve.
Unlike a lot of window installation companies, the crew at Schoenherr Roofing knows your home is one of a kind. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions. We sit down with you, talk through your needs, look over your home, and recommend window installation or replacement options that actually fit your situation.

The team at Schoenherr Roofing handles window installation and replacement for both homes and businesses. Here are the window services we do most:
We provide expert window installation for new builds, home additions, and remodeling projects. Every window we install is properly flashed, insulated, and sealed so it lasts, keeps your energy bills down, and fits your home’s style.
Our window replacement service is all about swapping out old, damaged, or drafty windows for modern, energy-efficient ones. The difference is hard to miss — your home feels more comfortable once the drafts and condensation are gone, and you’ll notice just how much quieter it gets inside without all that outside noise bleeding through.
Pocket window replacement is a smart way to save money without tearing everything apart. We keep your original frame and swap out just the window sash, which means far less mess. It’s a straightforward fix that still delivers a serious upgrade in insulation, style, and overall performance.
Schoenherr Roofing installs premium ENERGY STAR–rated windows built specifically to reduce heat transfer. That means lower monthly energy bills, better indoor comfort all year long, and you might even qualify for federal tax rebates.
Our vinyl window installation gives you tough, low-maintenance windows that won’t warp, crack, or rot over time. You get lasting durability while still choosing from a wide variety of styles and colors to match your home’s look.
Double-hung window replacement is a top choice for good reason. These windows have top and bottom sashes that open independently, giving you a lot of flexibility. That design improves ventilation and makes cleaning and maintenance a whole lot easier.
Standard single- and double-hung windows don’t work for every room, which is why we also offer smooth-sliding windows and crank-operated casement windows. These options give you wide, clear views and great airflow, and they come with secure locking systems that keep you comfortable and safe.
Want to fill your rooms with natural light, gain a little extra space, and sharpen your curb appeal? Custom bay and bow windows are a great way to do it. These styles look especially good in living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms.
Window sealing and weatherproofing is a fast, budget-friendly way to stop drafts, keep moisture out, and protect your home from water damage. It also makes your rooms more comfortable and helps keep heating and cooling costs in check.
Storm windows are a popular choice for Leonard homeowners, and it’s not hard to see why. When professionally fitted, they cut drafts, noticeably improve energy efficiency, and give your home solid protection against wind, rain, and snow — all while helping your main windows last a lot longer.
Not every old or damaged window needs to be replaced, which is why we offer a full range of window repair services. Our approach focuses on swapping out specific parts — frames, sashes, hardware, and seals — to restore performance and comfort without the cost of a full replacement.
Still have questions about window installation or replacement in Leonard? We’ve rounded up a few of the most common questions our customers have and answered them below.
We do, and we are closer than most. Our Romeo headquarters is only about nine miles east, roughly a fifteen-minute drive, so Leonard is well within easy reach. Plenty of metro companies treat it as too far out; we are practically neighbors.
Yes. Well-fitted storm windows are a great option for the village’s older homes, adding a layer of protection and cutting drafts while leaving the original windows and the home’s historic look untouched. It is often the least invasive way to improve comfort on a period house.
They will. Homes on open Addison Township land catch wind with nothing to break it, and that wind finds every worn seal and loose sash. Tight, correctly installed windows with modern weatherstripping stop the rattle and the air leaks that push up your heating bill out here.
Yes. Rural Leonard properties often have barns, detached garages, and enclosed porches with their own drafty, dated openings. We can bring those up to the same standard as the house so the whole property is tight, not just the living space.
It depends on the wood. If the sash and frame are sound, we can often repair or rebuild components; once the wood has rotted or the window no longer seals, replacement is the better long-term call. On a historic home we weigh keeping the character against real performance, and we will give you a straight answer.
For most owners, yes. Even on a modest older home, drafty single-pane windows are a steady drain on comfort and heating costs, and replacing them pays back in a warmer house and lower bills. We can phase the work or focus on the worst rooms first to keep it affordable.

Our experience with Schoenherr Roofing has been very pleasant. Our sales consultant, Nate and project manager, Josh H. were both professional and personable. We were very impressed with the excellent communication by Josh before, during, and after our project. The cleanup the roofing crew did was also outstanding. I would 100% recommend them to anyone interested in their services! They had great communication skills. They kept us updated with scheduling and progress pictures of what was completed. One of the days we were surprised with a terrible storm that popped up in the middle of the tear off/install. Even with the 50+ mph winds and extreme rain the guys successfully tarped off our house with no leaks! Also, they're very reasonably priced and went to great lengths to protect our landscape. Thanks for a great experience!Posted on Google![]()

I contacted Schoenherr Roofing for an estimated on replacing my roof. They sent David Schafer to my residence. Dave explained his process. He entered the attic and videoed while speaking the issues he sees. He then got on my roof and videoed everything. I also had the shed looked at. When Dave was completed, he had a video that I could see. His findings and video explaining everything was great. Dave was very professional, polite and courteous. He answered all my questions. He came prepared with what he needed to do his job. Today we happy our roof was replaced by Schoenherr Roofing! They replaced the shingles on the house, garage and shed. On the house, all wood decking was replaced with a few on the garage. Ridge vent installed on the house and garage. Crew was here early as schedule and on time. I watched this five man crew work constantly with a break for lunch. My home is a two story colonial. This crew had to carry all the lumber and shingles to the top of the roof. Shingles carried up to top of the garage as. The crew leader (Luis) was very polite. He took pictures throughout sending them to his boss Chad. Chad then forward them to me to keep me up to date. Even views from the top of the roof where I couldn’t see. The crew did an outstanding job cleaning the area upon completion. All of this work by 5 men in one day (12 hrs). I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank You to everyone involved a Schoenherr Roofing!!Posted on Google![]()

After doing some research and sifting through high presdure sales tactics from other vendors, i chose Schoenherr roofing. All of their laborers are in house employees versus 3rd party contractors. After commiting they assigned several people and kept me in the loop. During the tear out and install i was given pictoral updates on every aspect of the job, their pricing was in line with their competitors and they used state of the art materials designed for specific aspects versus 1 shingle does all. Best of all was material usage had no hidden addons and we stayed within budget, i believe 200 Lft of planking was in the quote and we used 160. No upsell on anything or special pricing tiers of quality, i got app. 1600 sqft of tier 3 impact shingled roof for $15,000.00 With drip edge and needed planking and the latest in ventilation technology. You can see in one picture the original roof in poor shape.Posted on Google![]()

Their sales rep, Leo, is helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. He is clearly dedicated to his customers and is someone I could trust to provide me with an honest understanding of the whole project and its pricing. I received 5 different quotes from various local and chain roofing contractors. Schoenherr Roofing is slightly more expensive than average but their services, from start to finish, were above average. I was kept in the loop regarding every step of the process which included financing, a flexible appointment time, a pre-install and post-install inspection, material delivery, install, and clean-up. At every step they were prompt and thorough. The crew was extremely hard working and were able to set up, replace a house and garage roof, clean, and pack up in about 12 hours despite the heat. They provided me with real-time photos of their work as each step of the install was completed, which is something all construction contractors should take note of. I am happy that I paid a bit extra for the peace of mind I now have in a roof with a strong labor and material warranty installed by an experienced local business.Posted on Google![]()

Overall, we had a positive experience with our roof replacement, but a few issues kept it from being excellent. Scheduling was easy, the consultant was on time and prepared, and the quote and financing options were competitive. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed the roof quickly, even with two existing layers to remove. We also appreciated the progress photos and prompt follow-up with the invoice, financing paperwork, and final inspection scheduling. Our main concerns were communication, cleanup, and safety. We did not receive a response when we asked for a dumpster delivery time, which made planning garage access difficult. We were also told the generator and A/C units would be covered, but they were not. We also observed that no one working on the roof appeared to be using fall protection, which was concerning for work over 6 feet. The roof itself appears to have been installed efficiently and professionally.Posted on Angie's List![]()

Absolutely thrilled with the work done by Schoenherr Roofing! I had been struggling with a leaking roof for a while, and after several failed attempts by other contractors, I finally found someone who not only diagnosed the problem but fixed it with precision and professionalism. The issue turned out to be the chimney area, and instead of just patching things up, Caleb took the time to build a cricket around the chimney to divert water and prevent future leaks. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the work was completed efficiently without any mess or disruption to my daily routine. What really stood out was their clear communication and dedication to making sure everything was done right. They explained the entire process, answered all my questions, and took care to ensure that the repair would provide a long-lasting solution. Since the repair, I’ve had no further issues, even during heavy rainstorms. I can finally rest easy knowing my roof is in great shape! I highly recommend Schoenherr Roofing for anyone in need of roofing services—they are skilled, reliable, and genuinely care about doing the job right. Install or Replace an Asphalt Shingle Roof Schoenherr worked from dawn to dusk to complete the project in a very timely fashion. They came in $1090 under budget, having finished the whole job within one work day and three hours. They provided photos of the roof halfway through the project and at completion ? I would have appreciated a few 'before' photos, too. They provided a group text so that everyone involved could communicate and stay looped in. My only other quibble is that the finance person always neglected to cc my wife on emails, even though the home-improvement loan is in her name. Finally, after wrapping up the project, Schoenherr put everything in both yards back in place and cleaned the site really well. Sometimes it's worth paying a little bit more for quality service and execution. Sometimes, it's not even that much more!Posted on Home Advisor![]()
