Google roofing contractors around Sterling Heights, and you’ll see a whole lot of stars. Several companies have perfect 5.0 ratings. Others have hundreds of reviews
Aging, damaged, or outdated windows might seem like a small issue, but they can lead to big problems. From higher energy bills and reduced home value to leaks that threaten your walls and floors, old windows can cause more trouble than you might expect. They can even make your home less comfortable and quieter than it should be.
The good news is there’s a simple fix. Reach out to the window replacement specialists at Schoenherr Roofing and let us update your home with new, attractive, energy-efficient windows. You’ll enjoy a more comfortable living space now, along with improved curb appeal when it’s time to sell.
If you want to enjoy all the benefits new windows have to offer—without dealing with the issues that come from poor installation or low-quality materials—you need to work with true window replacement professionals, like the team at Schoenherr Roofing.
Allenton is a small farming community out in western St. Clair County, about fourteen miles from our Romeo headquarters at 102 W St Clair St, roughly a twenty-five minute drive. Plenty of window companies will not travel out to a rural community like this, but we cover this area, and a place this settled deserves a real local option. We schedule free estimates without a long wait, keep the install on the day we set, and stand behind the work even at this distance. You get an established company, not whoever happens to pass through.
Allenton grew up in the 1840s as a stagecoach stop and later a rail station in what is now Berlin Township, and it has stayed a small crossroads community ever since. The Allenton post office serves the whole township, and the area is known for its picturesque farmland, open space, and larger parcels of land. This is quiet country, where homes sit on acreage and neighbors are spread out. Even as a few newer homes have gone up, the area keeps its open, agricultural feel.
That setting shapes the window work here. The older farmhouses were built in an era of single-pane wood windows, and the country homes on the township's open land face weather with little to slow it down. Both are the kind of homes that reward tight, well-fitted windows.
Out on open farmland, the challenge is exposure and cost. Wind crosses the fields with nothing to break it and finds every worn sash, and a large older farmhouse is genuinely expensive to heat. Old single-pane windows lose a great deal of that heat, and worn wood sticks, rattles, and no longer latches the way it should. Tight, insulated replacements stop the drafts and take a real bite out of the heating bill.
We handle the full range out here, from older farmhouses to newer country homes, and yes, manufactured and modular homes as well, which are common in a rural area like this. On a budget, we can focus first on the worst windows or the coldest rooms and complete the rest over time, so the improvement fits what you want to spend. From your first call through the finished install, we keep the process clear and the timeline honest, distance and all. Barns, garages, and enclosed porches on a country property can get the same tight treatment as the house.
Every job starts with an honest measure and windows sized to fit the home you actually have.
Because we already serve this end of the region, our crews are willing to make a drive that many will not, and in a small rural community a well-done job is the best reference there is. That is reason enough to hold our standards high, however far out the address.
In fact, there are several reasons to choose Schoenherr Roofing for all your window replacement needs, including:
Unfortunately, many homeowners miss the warning signs that their existing windows are no longer performing as they should. Keep an eye out for the following issues so you’ll know when it’s time to replace your windows.
If you notice cold air in the winter or warm air in the summer when you’re standing near your windows, it’s a sign the seals may be failing or the insulation isn’t doing its job.
Old and inefficient windows force your heating and cooling system to work harder, which leads to higher monthly utility costs.
Moisture trapped between the panes is usually a sign of a broken seal, and that can seriously reduce the window’s ability to insulate your home.
Windows that stick, jam, or won’t stay open often have warped frames, worn out hardware, or structural issues that warrant replacement.
Cracked or rotting window frames can let moisture inside, weaken your home’s structure, and lead to costly repairs if left unaddressed.
If outdoor noise easily passes through your windows, they may be outdated or feature only a single pane of glass that fails to provide adequate sound insulation.
Excessive UV rays passing through aging windows can cause your interior furnishings, flooring, and finishes to fade over time.
Water stains, bubbling paint, or damp drywall near windows can indicate failing seals or improper installation.
Wanting to save money on window installation or replacement is completely understandable. Unfortunately, many homeowners find out the hard way that choosing the cheapest option rarely pays off in the long run. Instead of enjoying attractive, energy-efficient windows, they’re left dealing with issues like windows that don’t open or close smoothly, constant drafts, and moisture getting where it doesn’t belong.
That’s not a concern when you choose the professionals at Schoenherr Roofing. We offer expert window installation and replacement services, and we work exclusively with high-quality windows designed to deliver the performance, comfort, and efficiency your home deserves. Contact us today to schedule your free estimate and learn how to get the most value from your window investment.
Most homeowners will enjoy several benefits when they upgrade their home’s windows. But Allenton homeowners stand to benefit more than others, thanks to our state’s combination of environmental and cultural factors. In fact, there are six reasons homeowners in The Great Lakes State should always opt for premium windows, including:
Allenton homes deal with freezing winters and hot, humid summers. High-quality windows help keep indoor temperatures steady year-round by reducing heat loss during winter and limiting heat gain in the summer.
Beyond keeping your home’s temperature more consistent, sealed, energy-efficient windows with insulated glass also reduce the strain on your HVAC system. That added efficiency can help Allenton homeowners lower their energy bills throughout the year.
Snow, ice, heavy rain, and other kinds of precipitation are all common in Allenton. Fortunately, well-built, properly sealed, and drained windows help prevent damaging water intrusion, rot, and mold growth.
Allenton’s constant freeze-thaw cycles put a lot of stress on window frames and seals, which can lead to costly issues over time. Durable, professionally installed windows are built to handle that expansion and contraction and stand up to long-term weather exposure.
It’s important to enjoy every benefit possible when trying to sell your home or protect its value in Allenton’s competitive market. New, modern windows improve the appearance of your home and can increase resale value.
We take pride in providing solutions that are tailored to each homeowner and treating every project as the unique job it is. At the same time, over the last 30 years, we’ve developed a proven, consistent process that serves our customers well and helps ensure they receive the high-quality window solutions they deserve.
Unlike some other window installation service providers, the professionals at Schoenherr Roofing understand that your home is truly one-of-a-kind and deserves window solutions that are tailored for your specific situation. We don’t push our customers toward cookie-cutter solutions; we take the time to discuss your needs, assess your home, and provide the kind of custom-designed window installation or replacement services you deserve.

The professionals at Schoenherr Roofing can handle all of your window installation and replacement needs, whether for a home or a business. Some of the window services we most commonly provide include:
We offer professional window installation for new construction, home additions, and remodeling projects. Every window is properly flashed, insulated, and sealed to deliver long-lasting performance, strong energy efficiency, and a finished look that complements your home.
Our window replacement services include removing your home’s old, damaged, or underperforming windows and installing modern, energy-efficient replacements. The result is fewer drafts, less condensation, reduced outside noise, and a more comfortable home overall.
Pocket window replacement offers a cost-effective alternative to complete replacement, as it leaves the existing frame intact and only involves the replacement of the window sash, thereby minimizing disruption while improving insulation, appearance, and functionality.
Schoenherr Roofing installs premium ENERGY STAR–rated windows designed to significantly reduce heat transfer. That means lower monthly energy bills, improved indoor comfort in every season, and potential eligibility for federal tax rebates.
Our vinyl window installation services give homeowners the chance to enjoy durable, low-maintenance windows that’ll resist warping, cracking, and moisture damage over time, while also providing plenty of options with respect to the window style and color.
A popular option that allows both the top and bottom sashes to open independently, double-hung window replacement provides versatility, improves your home’s ventilation, and makes both the cleaning and maintenance of your windows much easier.
Single- and double-hung windows aren’t the best fit for every space, which is why we also install smooth-sliding windows and crank-operated casement windows. These options offer wide, unobstructed views, strong airflow, and secure locking systems that enhance both comfort and safety.
For homeowners who want to bring in more natural light, add usable space, and boost curb appeal, custom bay and bow windows can be a great solution. These window styles work especially well in living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms.
Window sealing and weatherproofing offer a faster, more budget-friendly way to stop drafts, reduce moisture intrusion, and protect your home from water damage. At the same time, these services improve indoor comfort and help keep heating and cooling costs under control.
A popular choice among Allenton homeowners, properly installed storm windows help to reduce drafts, improve your window’s energy efficiency, and provide more defense against wind, rain, and snow, while also helping extend the life of your primary windows.
Not every aging or damaged window needs to be replaced, which is why we offer a full range of window repair services. Our approach focuses on selective component replacement—such as frames, sashes, hardware, and seals—to restore performance and comfort without unnecessary replacement.
Still have questions about window installation or replacement in Allenton? We’ve rounded up a few of the most common questions our customers have and answered them below.
Yes. Allenton is about fourteen miles from our Romeo headquarters, roughly a twenty-five minute drive, and we cover this rural end of the region. Many companies skip a community this far out, but we schedule free estimates here and stand behind the work.
Yes. Manufactured and modular homes are common in a rural area like this, and we replace windows on them as well as on traditional farmhouses and newer country homes. We measure each opening to fit rather than assuming a standard size.
They can. On an exposed country home, old single-pane windows and worn sashes leak a surprising amount of heat, which drives the bills up. Tight, insulated replacements stop the drafts and ease the load on the furnace, and most owners feel the difference in both comfort and cost.
It often is. Windows that stick or will not latch usually have warped frames or worn hardware, which also means they are no longer sealing or securing the home the way they should. Replacing them restores smooth operation, a solid latch, and a tight seal all at once.
We start with the windows costing you the most comfort and heat, usually the coldest rooms or the worst units, and can phase the rest over time. That way the biggest improvement comes first and the spending fits what you have set aside, rather than everything landing at once.
It is straightforward. We come out for a free measure and estimate, order your windows to fit, which takes a few weeks, then install, usually in a day or two depending on the home. Even at this distance we keep the schedule and the communication clear from start to finish.

We had a great experience with Schoenherr Roofing! They did a complete tear-off, replaced all the wood that needed replacing, and installed new shingles. They kept us informed throughout the process, even providing pictures, and answered all of our questions. Everyone we dealt with, from the sales representative to the crew, was extremely helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. The crew did a great job and left everything very clean. We also received a transferable warranty, which gives us great peace of mind. We are very happy with our new roof and would definitely recommend Schoenherr Roofing!Posted on Google![]()

I’d give more stars, but 5 seems to be the limit. From the time I first called to schedule an inspection of the roof until the work was completed and I was paying the bill, Schoenherr was nothing but professional. Everyone went out of their way to make the entire job as easy on us as it could be. They handled everything perfectly, promptly and professionally. The project manager Josh, was on top of everything that was happening and kept us updated throughout the entire process. As soon as there was anything to report he was in contact. I really appreciated the voluminous amount of photos I received. (Before, during and after) The place was looking cleaner when they were done than it was before they started. If only every contractor would be as easy to work with.Posted on Google![]()

Schoenherr Roofing did a complete roof replacement on our house: 2,800 s.f. Colonial, 39 “squares,” in Troy, which was finished, on time, in 1.5 days. From the materials delivery company, to the project manager’s (PM) pre-job contacts, to the on-site workers, everyone was friendly, helpful, and easy to deal with. Although the noise WAS horrific, we knew it would be!! The finished roof looks awesome. The PM did a post-job inspection the next day to address any remaining nails on the ground (not many), and picked up excess materials not used. We are extremely satisfied with Schoenherr Roofing and would highly recommend them for a total roof replacement!Posted on Home Advisor![]()

Overall, we had a positive experience with our roof replacement, but a few issues kept it from being excellent. Scheduling was easy, the consultant was on time and prepared, and the quote and financing options were competitive. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed the roof quickly, even with two existing layers to remove. We also appreciated the progress photos and prompt follow-up with the invoice, financing paperwork, and final inspection scheduling. Our main concerns were communication, cleanup, and safety. We did not receive a response when we asked for a dumpster delivery time, which made planning garage access difficult. We were also told the generator and A/C units would be covered, but they were not. We also observed that no one working on the roof appeared to be using fall protection, which was concerning for work over 6 feet. The roof itself appears to have been installed efficiently and professionally.Posted on Angie's List![]()

Absolutely thrilled with the work done by Schoenherr Roofing! I had been struggling with a leaking roof for a while, and after several failed attempts by other contractors, I finally found someone who not only diagnosed the problem but fixed it with precision and professionalism. The issue turned out to be the chimney area, and instead of just patching things up, Caleb took the time to build a cricket around the chimney to divert water and prevent future leaks. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the work was completed efficiently without any mess or disruption to my daily routine. What really stood out was their clear communication and dedication to making sure everything was done right. They explained the entire process, answered all my questions, and took care to ensure that the repair would provide a long-lasting solution. Since the repair, I’ve had no further issues, even during heavy rainstorms. I can finally rest easy knowing my roof is in great shape! I highly recommend Schoenherr Roofing for anyone in need of roofing services—they are skilled, reliable, and genuinely care about doing the job right. Thank you Caleb for saving my home from further damage!Posted on Home Advisor![]()

Install or Replace an Asphalt Shingle Roof Schoenherr worked from dawn to dusk to complete the project in a very timely fashion. They came in $1090 under budget, having finished the whole job within one work day and three hours. They provided photos of the roof halfway through the project and at completion ? I would have appreciated a few 'before' photos, too. They provided a group text so that everyone involved could communicate and stay looped in. My only other quibble is that the finance person always neglected to cc my wife on emails, even though the home-improvement loan is in her name. Finally, after wrapping up the project, Schoenherr put everything in both yards back in place and cleaned the site really well. Sometimes it's worth paying a little bit more for quality service and execution. Sometimes, it's not even that much more!Posted on Home Advisor![]()
