Top 15 Highest Rated Roofers Serving Troy, MI (2026)
Finding a roofer in Troy isn’t exactly difficult. Figuring out which one you actually want working on your house is another story. There are companies
Our Novi office at 43000 W Nine Mile Road is about 22 miles from Davisburg, roughly a 30 to 35 minute drive into the northwest corner of Oakland County. We serve this northern reach of our region regularly, so a rural community like Davisburg is well within the ground our crews cover.
That regular presence is what matters for you. We come out for free estimates, our crews show up when we say they will, and follow-up on warranty or touch-up work is easy to arrange. Being farther out doesn't change our pricing, and we'll give you a straight estimate and a clear plan. The extra miles are ours to manage, not something added to your bill.
Davisburg sits in Springfield Township, named for the many natural springs that feed the area. This is some of the most scenic country in Oakland County, rolling and heavily wooded, with the township's highest hills rising right around the village and roughly two dozen small lakes scattered across the landscape. Springfield Oaks, home of the Oakland County Fair and the historic Ellis Barn, anchors the community. The annual Davisburg antique festival and the county fair give the village a real historic, small-town character worth protecting.
That setting shapes the roofs here. Older homes near the village core carry steeper, detailed rooflines, the lakes are ringed with lakefront houses and former cottages, and the surrounding countryside is full of farmhouses with barns, pole barns, and detached garages. It's a real range of homes, and the wooded, hilly, water-dotted terrain is hard on all of them. Springfield Township is where the Shiawassee, Huron, and Clinton rivers all begin, so water and wetlands are never far from a Davisburg home.
Heavy tree cover keeps shaded slopes damp enough for moss and algae, drops limbs onto the roof in storms, and packs leaves into valleys and gutters. Homes on the lakes take extra wind and moisture off the open water, which lifts shingles and pushes rain under flashing. The older village and rural homes tend to leak first at worn flashing and tired decking, and Michigan freeze-thaw cycles drive ice dams along the eaves everywhere.
We match the work to the home. That means a proper tear-off and decking inspection when it's warranted, shingle profiles that suit an older home, the right low-slope materials on barns and garages, wind-rated shingles near the water, strong ventilation, and ice-and-water shield along the vulnerable edges. On the wooded lots we can fit algae-resistant shingles so the shaded slopes stay cleaner between jobs.
We've roofed Oakland County since 1995, and we're up in the northwest corner regularly. In a small, tight community where neighbors trade recommendations, reputation keeps our work honest. It's the same standard behind more than 6,200 Michigan roofs, and Davisburg gets the same service as a job closer to the office. We'll travel up for a single repair or a full replacement and quote it the same either way. The drive is ours to manage; you just get a roof done right.
Installing a new roof from the ground up?
Typically needed for new construction or major home additions
Protects your home from rain, snow, moisture, and extreme weather conditions
Delivers a solid, properly installed roofing system built for long-term durability
Signs it might be time to replace your roof:
Curling, cracking, or missing shingles: Clear indicators that your roof is failing
Water stains on ceilings or walls: Often point to hidden leaks or moisture damage
Moss, mold, or algae growth: May suggest trapped moisture and potential structural damage
Roof over 20 years old: Older roofs might no longer offer reliable protection
Storm damage: Even if not immediately visible, severe weather can weaken your roof’s integrity.
Looking for a reliable team for roof installation or replacement? Schoenherr Roofing is here to assist. We begin with a free, no-obligation consultation to assess whether you need a full roof replacement or just some focused repairs. We specialize in installing:
This process involves installing a new roof on a structure that either doesn’t have one yet or is undergoing significant changes. It’s typically required in scenarios such as:
New Construction: Installing a complete roofing system on a newly built home or building.
Major Renovations: Updating an existing structure with substantial changes that necessitate a full roof replacement.
This service is necessary when repairs no longer suffice, or your roof has reached the end of its useful life. Here are some signs that a full replacement might be the best choice:
Aging Roof: If your roof is over 20 years old, the materials may no longer provide adequate protection.
Visible Damage: Missing shingles, recurring leaks, or a sagging roofline typically indicate more serious structural problems.
Frequent Repairs: If you’re constantly fixing issues, a full replacement can save you money and reduce stress in the long run.
Choosing Schoenherr Roofing for your roof replacement means investing in lasting protection and confidence. Our experienced team makes sure your new roof not only enhances your home’s appearance but also stands strong against the elements for years to come.

While both roof installation and roof replacement give you a brand-new roof, the reasons, processes, and costs behind each are different.
Roof Installation:
Roof Replacement:
Bottom Line:
If you’re building from the ground up or expanding, choose a new installation. If your roof is outdated or damaged, a replacement provides lasting protection and peace of mind.
The cost of roof installation or repair can vary widely based on several key factors. The type of roofing material, the complexity of the project, and the accessibility of your roof all play a role in determining the final price. Asphalt shingles tend to be the most budget-friendly option, while premium materials like slate or metal come with a higher cost.
If your roof has a steep pitch or intricate design, it may require specialized tools and a more skilled crew, which can increase labor expenses. By understanding these factors, homeowners can make smart, informed decisions that match both their budget and specific needs.
Roofing Material Choices:
Asphalt shingles: A popular, cost-effective option that’s easy to install and performs well for most homes.
Slate or tile: A premium material with a higher upfront cost, but it offers exceptional durability and longevity.
Understanding the cost differences between materials helps you find the right balance between your budget and the long-term value of your roof.
Roof Size:
Larger roofs require more materials—additional shingles, underlayment, and other components—which increases the overall cost.
Roof Complexity:
Steep slopes, complex angles, dormers, or intricate designs demand more time, skill, and specialized tools, driving up both labor and material costs.
In Davisburg, seasonal changes significantly affect the timing and cost of roofing projects. Winter brings snow, ice, and freezing temperatures, which can slow progress and make the work more dangerous. With fewer crews available and additional safety precautions required, roofing during the colder months often leads to higher costs.
Spring and fall are typically the best times for roofing projects. With milder temperatures and more stable weather, these seasons offer ideal conditions, minimizing delays and improving efficiency. Contractors are generally more available, and pricing is often more competitive during these times.
By aligning your roofing project with the seasons, you can avoid delays, control costs, and ensure the work is completed properly from the start.
Choosing the right roofing service—whether it’s a small repair or a full replacement—can make a real difference for your home and your budget. Fixing minor issues early helps you avoid major, expensive problems later on. While repair costs vary, they’re usually far more affordable than replacing the entire roof.
Hiring a professional means your roof keeps doing its job: keeping water out, preventing mold, and protecting your home from everyday wear. DIY repairs might look simple, but having a pro take care of it ensures it’s done correctly and safely the first time.
Your roof is a crucial part of your home’s structure and value. Unsure about its condition? Contact Schoenherr Roofing for a free inspection and reliable expert advice you can trust.
Yes. Our Novi office at 43000 W Nine Mile Road is about 22 miles from Davisburg, roughly a 30 to 35 minute drive into the northwest corner of Oakland County. You can reach us at (248) 270-7344. We serve this northern reach of our region regularly, and being farther out doesn’t change our pricing.
Davisburg’s rolling, wooded terrain keeps shaded slopes damp enough for moss and algae, drops limbs onto roofs in storms, and packs leaves into the valleys and gutters. We clean and treat the growth, keep the drainage clear, and can install algae-resistant shingles when we re-roof so the shaded slopes stay cleaner between jobs.
Yes. Springfield Township is dotted with roughly two dozen lakes, and the homes on them take extra wind and moisture off the open water that lifts shingles and pushes rain under flashing. We build these roofs with wind-rated, well-sealed shingles and careful flashing at every edge so the lakefront exposure doesn’t shorten their life.
Yes. Rural properties around Davisburg often have barns, pole barns, and detached garages with large, low-slope roofs that need the proper membrane rather than shingles forced where they won’t shed water. We handle the outbuildings and the main house together, using the right material for each so the whole property is protected.
It can. Three rivers begin in Springfield Township and lakes and wetlands are everywhere, so humidity stays high and keeps roofs and shaded trim damp longer. We keep ventilation strong, flashing sealed, and shaded slopes treated, and we check the fascia, soffit, and gutters so moisture doesn’t work its way into the structure.
No. Davisburg is a longer trip for us, but we don’t add travel premiums or stretch out scheduling for it. You get the same honest pricing, the same quality work, and the same follow-up as a job closer to our office.

Our experience with Schoenherr Roofing has been very pleasant. Our sales consultant, Nate and project manager, Josh H. were both professional and personable. We were very impressed with the excellent communication by Josh before, during, and after our project. The cleanup the roofing crew did was also outstanding. We love our new roof!Posted on Google![]()

Josh H. one of the guys that works there happens to live down the street from my mother and noticed she had a few missing shingles. During the roof inspection he temporarily patched it in to give her a few extra months until she can afford it. Absolutely wonderful guy and didn’t ask for a dime, just wanted to save her from extra damages.Posted on Google![]()

I would 100% recommend them to anyone interested in their services! They had great communication skills. They kept us updated with scheduling and progress pictures of what was completed. One of the days we were surprised with a terrible storm that popped up in the middle of the tear off/install. Even with the 50+ mph winds and extreme rain the guys successfully tarped off our house with no leaks! Also, they're very reasonably priced and went to great lengths to protect our landscape. Thanks for a great experience!Posted on Google![]()

I contacted Schoenherr Roofing for an estimated on replacing my roof. They sent David Schafer to my residence. Dave explained his process. He entered the attic and videoed while speaking the issues he sees. He then got on my roof and videoed everything. I also had the shed looked at. When Dave was completed, he had a video that I could see. His findings and video explaining everything was great. Dave was very professional, polite and courteous. He answered all my questions. He came prepared with what he needed to do his job. Today we happy our roof was replaced by Schoenherr Roofing! They replaced the shingles on the house, garage and shed. On the house, all wood decking was replaced with a few on the garage. Ridge vent installed on the house and garage. Crew was here early as schedule and on time. I watched this five man crew work constantly with a break for lunch. My home is a two story colonial. This crew had to carry all the lumber and shingles to the top of the roof. Shingles carried up to top of the garage as. The crew leader (Luis) was very polite. He took pictures throughout sending them to his boss Chad. Chad then forward them to me to keep me up to date. Even views from the top of the roof where I couldn’t see. The crew did an outstanding job cleaning the area upon completion. All of this work by 5 men in one day (12 hrs). I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank You to everyone involved a Schoenherr Roofing!!Posted on Google![]()

After doing some research and sifting through high presdure sales tactics from other vendors, i chose Schoenherr roofing. All of their laborers are in house employees versus 3rd party contractors. After commiting they assigned several people and kept me in the loop. During the tear out and install i was given pictoral updates on every aspect of the job, their pricing was in line with their competitors and they used state of the art materials designed for specific aspects versus 1 shingle does all. Best of all was material usage had no hidden addons and we stayed within budget, i believe 200 Lft of planking was in the quote and we used 160. No upsell on anything or special pricing tiers of quality, i got app. 1600 sqft of tier 3 impact shingled roof for $15,000.00 With drip edge and needed planking and the latest in ventilation technology. You can see in one picture the original roof in poor shape.Posted on Google![]()

Their sales rep, Leo, is helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. He is clearly dedicated to his customers and is someone I could trust to provide me with an honest understanding of the whole project and its pricing. I received 5 different quotes from various local and chain roofing contractors. Schoenherr Roofing is slightly more expensive than average but their services, from start to finish, were above average. I was kept in the loop regarding every step of the process which included financing, a flexible appointment time, a pre-install and post-install inspection, material delivery, install, and clean-up. At every step they were prompt and thorough. The crew was extremely hard working and were able to set up, replace a house and garage roof, clean, and pack up in about 12 hours despite the heat. They provided me with real-time photos of their work as each step of the install was completed, which is something all construction contractors should take note of. I am happy that I paid a bit extra for the peace of mind I now have in a roof with a strong labor and material warranty installed by an experienced local business.Posted on Google![]()

Overall, we had a positive experience with our roof replacement, but a few issues kept it from being excellent. Scheduling was easy, the consultant was on time and prepared, and the quote and financing options were competitive. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed the roof quickly, even with two existing layers to remove. We also appreciated the progress photos and prompt follow-up with the invoice, financing paperwork, and final inspection scheduling. Our main concerns were communication, cleanup, and safety. We did not receive a response when we asked for a dumpster delivery time, which made planning garage access difficult. We were also told the generator and A/C units would be covered, but they were not. We also observed that no one working on the roof appeared to be using fall protection, which was concerning for work over 6 feet. The roof itself appears to have been installed efficiently and professionally.Posted on Angie's List![]()

Absolutely thrilled with the work done by Schoenherr Roofing! I had been struggling with a leaking roof for a while, and after several failed attempts by other contractors, I finally found someone who not only diagnosed the problem but fixed it with precision and professionalism. The issue turned out to be the chimney area, and instead of just patching things up, Caleb took the time to build a cricket around the chimney to divert water and prevent future leaks. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the work was completed efficiently without any mess or disruption to my daily routine. What really stood out was their clear communication and dedication to making sure everything was done right. They explained the entire process, answered all my questions, and took care to ensure that the repair would provide a long-lasting solution. Since the repair, I’ve had no further issues, even during heavy rainstorms. I can finally rest easy knowing my roof is in great shape! I highly recommend Schoenherr Roofing for anyone in need of roofing services—they are skilled, reliable, and genuinely care about doing the job right. Thank you Caleb for saving my home from further damage!Posted on Home Advisor![]()

Install or Replace an Asphalt Shingle Roof Schoenherr worked from dawn to dusk to complete the project in a very timely fashion. They came in $1090 under budget, having finished the whole job within one work day and three hours. They provided photos of the roof halfway through the project and at completion ? I would have appreciated a few 'before' photos, too. They provided a group text so that everyone involved could communicate and stay looped in. My only other quibble is that the finance person always neglected to cc my wife on emails, even though the home-improvement loan is in her name. Finally, after wrapping up the project, Schoenherr put everything in both yards back in place and cleaned the site really well. Sometimes it's worth paying a little bit more for quality service and execution. Sometimes, it's not even that much more!Posted on Home Advisor![]()
