Top 15 Highest Rated Roofers Serving Troy, MI (2026)
Finding a roofer in Troy isn’t exactly difficult. Figuring out which one you actually want working on your house is another story. There are companies
Canton sits south of Novi, about thirteen miles from our office at 43000 W Nine Mile Road. That’s close enough that our crews handle Canton’s subdivision and historic-village roofs as regular local work, without the delay of a contractor coming from farther out.
In a township built largely of subdivisions from the same era, catching a leak early keeps it from working into the drywall. Getting a technician on the roof quickly is what makes the difference, and from Novi we can be on a Canton roof within a day or two of your call.
Canton is one of the largest communities in the region, a Wayne County township of around ninety thousand that separated from Plymouth in 1834 and stayed farmland until the late 1960s, when subdivisions like Holiday Park kicked off decades of rapid growth. Today most of Canton is suburban neighborhoods served by the well-regarded Plymouth-Canton schools, but it has kept its history too: Cherry Hill Village, the last of the township’s old hamlets, dates to the 1830s and was revived in 2000 as Michigan’s first neo-traditional neighborhood, built around its historic 1865 core.
That growth shaped the roofs. Canton is mostly newer and mid-era subdivisions built on shared roof-age timelines, plus the historically inspired homes of Cherry Hill Village and a handful of older farmhouses on the land that hasn’t been developed. From builder-grade subdivision roofs to detailed neo-traditional ones, it’s a range that keeps our crews working on more than one kind of roof. In a township this large, a single storm can mark the same builder-grade roofs across a whole subdivision at once, and we’re set up to work through a neighborhood quickly.
The subdivisions are the main story. Canton grew in waves of subdivisions built with builder-grade shingles on shared timelines, so worn shingles, cracked pipe boots, and tired valley flashing show up street by street as whole neighborhoods reach the same age. When one home starts leaking, the neighbors usually aren’t far behind. The older farmhouses and the historic Cherry Hill core leak at the details instead, worn chimney and step flashing and tired valley metal.
Southeast Michigan’s freeze-thaw winters push it further. Snow melts during the day and refreezes at night, prying at loose flashing and building ice dams at the eaves of older or under-insulated homes that force water back up under the shingles. Most of it is repairable when caught early, and because we know these subdivision roofs well, we can give you an honest read on whether your roof needs a repair or is close enough to replacement that repairs are only buying time.
We work Canton constantly, from the subdivisions to Cherry Hill Village, and it’s a short run from our Novi office. That keeps us accountable, and it keeps response times short. We’d rather fix your flashing right the first time than be the name a neighbor warns you about. We’ve served Southeast Michigan since 1995, and a large subdivision community like Canton is exactly the kind of place that record was built for.
Roof problems can be inconvenient, but maintaining a strong roof is essential to protecting your home. Schoenherr Roofing is here to assist. Whether you need a minor repair or a full replacement, it all starts with a thorough damage assessment. The type of roof, its age, and the severity of the issue all influence the best solution.
Our team conducts detailed inspections for all types of roofing systems, from asphalt shingles to metal. We address visible damage, like missing shingles, and uncover hidden problems, such as attic leaks. By creating custom repair plans, we restore your roof’s integrity and ensure lasting protection for your home.
In Canton, MI, the changing seasons—from hot summers to cold, snowy winters—can significantly affect your roof, especially if it’s made of common materials like asphalt shingles.
Strong winds can dislodge or loosen shingles, exposing the roof deck to moisture and potential leaks. During winter, snow buildup and ice dams can obstruct drainage, causing water to seep into your home and potentially leading to further damage.
Ignoring early signs of roof damage, such as missing shingles, water stains, or granules in your gutters, can lead to costly repairs or even a full roof replacement. Addressing minor issues early helps protect your home and extends the lifespan of your roof.
Unsure when to call a roofing professional? Some signs are easy to notice, while others may be less obvious. Missing, cracked, or curling shingles typically indicate wear or damage. Water stains on ceilings or walls could suggest a leak. A sagging roofline may point to structural issues. Granules from asphalt shingles in the gutters often indicate shingle deterioration. Moss or algae growth might signal trapped moisture. If your asphalt shingle roof is 20 to 25 years old, it’s advisable to schedule a professional inspection to assess its condition and remaining lifespan.

Our Novi office is about thirteen miles from Canton, just to the north, so it’s regular local work for us. For an active leak we prioritize getting on the roof quickly, sealing it the same visit when needed, then scheduling the permanent repair.
Canton grew in waves of subdivisions built with builder-grade shingles on shared timelines, so whole streets reach the end of their shingle life around the same time. When one home starts showing worn shingles, granule loss, and leaks, the neighbors usually aren’t far behind. We can tell you where your roof sits on that clock and whether a repair or replacement makes more sense.
It depends on how far the wear has gone and whether the deck underneath is still sound. If the damage is localized and the roof has life left, a repair is the smart spend. If a builder-grade roof from one of Canton’s growth-era subdivisions is failing broadly, replacement may cost less over time. We give you a straight read after we’re actually on the roof, not before.
Yes. Cherry Hill Village blends a historic 1830s core with historically inspired homes, many with steep, detailed rooflines where leaks tend to start at the flashing and valleys rather than the open shingles. We repair those roofs, reseal the flashing and valleys, and blend the shingle work in so the fix seals and holds.
In Southeast Michigan, roof snow melts during the day and refreezes at the cold eaves at night, building an ice dam that pushes water back up under the shingles, especially on homes with thin attic insulation. We repair the resulting leaks and can point out the insulation and ventilation gaps behind them, which show up often on the builder-grade roofs across Canton’s subdivisions.
Usually yes. Because Canton is about thirteen miles from our Novi office, we can respond quickly when a storm marks a run of homes, which happens often in subdivisions where the roofs are all the same age. For an active leak we prioritize getting the roof watertight first, then schedule the full repair.

Overall, we had a positive experience with our roof replacement, but a few issues kept it from being excellent. Scheduling was easy, the consultant was on time and prepared, and the quote and financing options were competitive. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed the roof quickly, even with two existing layers to remove. We also appreciated the progress photos and prompt follow-up with the invoice, financing paperwork, and final inspection scheduling. Our main concerns were communication, cleanup, and safety. We did not receive a response when we asked for a dumpster delivery time, which made planning garage access difficult. We were also told the generator and A/C units would be covered, but they were not. We also observed that no one working on the roof appeared to be using fall protection, which was concerning for work over 6 feet. The roof itself appears to have been installed efficiently and professionally.Posted on Angie's List![]()

Absolutely thrilled with the work done by Schoenherr Roofing! I had been struggling with a leaking roof for a while, and after several failed attempts by other contractors, I finally found someone who not only diagnosed the problem but fixed it with precision and professionalism. The issue turned out to be the chimney area, and instead of just patching things up, Caleb took the time to build a cricket around the chimney to divert water and prevent future leaks. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the work was completed efficiently without any mess or disruption to my daily routine. What really stood out was their clear communication and dedication to making sure everything was done right. They explained the entire process, answered all my questions, and took care to ensure that the repair would provide a long-lasting solution. Since the repair, I’ve had no further issues, even during heavy rainstorms. I can finally rest easy knowing my roof is in great shape! I highly recommend Schoenherr Roofing for anyone in need of roofing services—they are skilled, reliable, and genuinely care about doing the job right. Thank you Caleb for saving my home from further damage!Posted on Home Advisor![]()

Install or Replace an Asphalt Shingle Roof Schoenherr worked from dawn to dusk to complete the project in a very timely fashion. They came in $1090 under budget, having finished the whole job within one work day and three hours. They provided photos of the roof halfway through the project and at completion ? I would have appreciated a few 'before' photos, too. They provided a group text so that everyone involved could communicate and stay looped in. My only other quibble is that the finance person always neglected to cc my wife on emails, even though the home-improvement loan is in her name. Finally, after wrapping up the project, Schoenherr put everything in both yards back in place and cleaned the site really well. Sometimes it's worth paying a little bit more for quality service and execution. Sometimes, it's not even that much more!Posted on Home Advisor![]()
